SUMMARY:Downriver Endogamy: The Intermarriages of French Canadians with Janelle Asselin
DESCRIPTION:Using the LeBlanc\, Drouillard\, and Cicotte families as a case study\, learn about the ways the French Canadian residents of the Downriver area maintained a close knit – and closely related – community.  Similar to French Canadian communities in Quebec\, the families who settled in areas like Ecorse beginning in the 18th Century intermarried frequently\, making surnames like LeBlanc\, Drouillard\, Cicotte\, Reaume\, Bondie\, Riopelle\, common across many family trees.

SUMMARY:Detroit Area Amusement Parks with Tyler Moll
DESCRIPTION:Detroit today doesn’t have a single amusement park left\, but 100 years ago there were more than half a dozen. We will cover the rise and fall of amusement parks in the Metro area and talk about some you may even remember. Boblo or Edgewater anyone?
